Kirkconnell Correctional Centre
Kirkconnell Correctional Centre is a minimum security institution for males located 180km west of Sydney, 3km off the Great Western Highway in the Sunny Corner State Forest, 28km west of Lithgow and 30km east of Bathurst.

How to get there
Public Transport
The nearest railway stations are Lithgow and Bathurst. The CRC bus service from Sydney runs once every 2 weeks, contact CRC on (02)9288 8700. There is no public transport from Lithgow or Bathurst.

Private Transport
Take the Great Western Highway from Lithgow to Bathurst, approximately 28km from Lithgow turn at blue signposts to the correctional centre into Sunny Corner Road.
The Centre is situated approximately 2km on left hand side of road and is well signposted directing visitors to the visits centre. Designated parking is available for wheelchair access.
Visitor Information
Bookings:
Bookings must be made prior to visiting on (02) 6337 5219 from Monday to Thursday between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. No bookings will be taken on Fridays.
Visit times:
Saturday and Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm.
Conditions:
You may take in barbeque and picnic food. Please contact the Centre to check what other items are permitted. Food by volume must fit into a 25 litre esky. No seafood is allowed.
Legal Visits
Legal practitioners may visit seven days between 8:00am-4:00pm. Notification of intention to visit should be made by telephoning the Centre on (02) 6337 5219 twenty four hours in advance.
Industries
The Centre has a wide range of work for inmates, including furniture production, afforestation, welding and gardening. Kirkconnell inmates also carry out all outside ground maintenance at the maximum security Lithgow Correctional Centre.

Special Programs
The Centre conducts a Sex Offenders Program, Violent Offenders Program and a range of Alcohol and Other Drugs Programs.
Community Involvement
Inmates take part in the annual Clean Up Australia Day and participate regularly in various community projects.
