Bathurst Correctional Complex
Bathurst Correctional Complex is a medium/minimum institution for males and is situated 210km west of Sydney. The Complex serves as a reception prison for western NSW. A minimum-security cellblock, known as X Wing, is located outside the walls of the main part of the gaol.

Public Transport
Train and private coach services operate from Sydney. The Complex is a short taxi ride from the station.

The Complex is approximately 3km west of the town centre. Turn onto Brooke Moore Avenue from the Mitchell Highway. CRC bus is available once a fortnight leaving Central Station- Sydney to Bathurst bookings can be made by telephoning (02) 9288 8700.

Bookings & Visiting Times
Bookings are compulsory and may be made by contacting (02) 6338 3212 between the hours of 1pm to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Bookings can only be made for the following weekend but not for periods in advance of 7 days. Please advise Bathurst Correctional Complex on the above number in the event of a cancellation. This will assist in accommodating other visitors. Visits will not proceed without a prior booking.
Provision has been made for two separate visits sessions for the main complex:
- Saturday and Sunday morning sessions 8.45am to 11.30am (processing times are 7.30 am to 10.15 am)
- Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions 12.30pm to 2.30pm (processing times are 11.30am to 1.15pm)
At the completion of each session all visitors and inmates will be cleared from the visits area. The maximum number of visitors per inmate is 4 adults and unlimited children under the age of 18.
Visitors booking and attending X wing minimum security section may visit all day (space permitting by arrangement on the day).
Visiting times are Saturday and Sunday from 8.45am to 2.45pm (processing times are from 8.30am to 2.00pm).
The full name of each adult visitor must be provided when making a booking. Although every effort will be made to accommodate the time requested, it is subject to availability.
Conditions
You can take a small amount in coins for drink and confectionary vending machines. Please contact the Complex to check what other items are permitted or refer to the booklet “Visiting a Correctional Centre”.
Legal Visits
Legal practitioners may visit Monday to Friday between the hours of 11.00am and 2.00pm. Notification of your intention to visit should be made by notifying the Manager Security at least 24 hours prior to the visit on fax (02) 6338 3281.
Legal practitioners are advised to provide their names, the name of the organisation they work for, the name of the inmate they are representing, the date and time of the intended legal visit.
Industries
Inmates are employed in CSI Food Services, Commercial Laundry, Girrawaa Creative Arts Centre and in two Technology Business Units where cable assembly and appliance repair and refurbishment work is undertaken.
Inmates also work on general ground maintenance inside and outside the Complex and undertake such tasks as cleaning and horticultural activities.

Inmates are encouraged to participate in the following courses. Please note that these are subject to change.
