Offender Policy Unit
The Offender Policy Unit directs the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and procedures that facilitate the effective management of offenders in custodial and community settings in line with the Department's corporate and strategic goals.
The Unit ensures the Operations Procedures Manual and Community Offender Services Policy and Procedures Manual are:
- maintained as a comprehensive reflection of current departmental offender related policy, procedure and service frameworks
- easily accessible by staff across the department
- compliant with legislation and New South Wales Government policy.
The Unit also co-ordinates policies and procedures relating to managing Aboriginal offenders in consultation with the Aboriginal Support and Planning Unit.
It also co-ordinates and manages the implementation of the Department's Ethnic Affairs and Multicultural policy.
