Wellington Correction Centre
About the Wellington Correctional Centre and the Town of Wellington
The Wellington Correctional Centre was officially opened in 2007 and is managed by the NSW Department of Corrective Services. It is a multi-classification regional correctional centre for adult offenders and houses offenders who have been sentenced in the region, or who have family/community ties to the area.
The Wellington Correctional Centre provides secure facilities for male and female offenders, from maximum through to minimum security. As a reception correctional centre, the facility will also house unsentenced offenders who have been remanded, in custody, awaiting court.
The philosophy of the Wellington Correctional Centre is to respond effectively to the needs of the offender population and the local community.
Employment Opportunities at the Wellington Correctional Centre
The recruitment of staff for the Wellington Correctional Centre will be phased. The Department has already run a series of recruitment exercises for Correctional Officers and (Trade) Overseers, and concluded its first round of advertising for Probation and Parole Officers. Other positions for the Centre, including Program and administrative positions, will be advertised on this site (as well as in the Local, Regional and Sydney press), as they become available.
