Berrima Correctional Centre
Berrima Correctional Centre is a medium security institution for women situated in the Southern Highlands, 125km south-west of Sydney and 14km from Mittagong. The Centre is also responsible for the administration of a periodic detention centre and court cells at Wollongong.

How to get there
Public Transport
The nearest railway station is Moss Vale (2.5 hrs from Sydney Central) which is about 7 km from the Centre. There is a bus service to Berrima on weekdays only. On weekends and public holidays the local taxi service may be used.
The Community Restorative Centre (CRC) runs a bus fortnightly on sundays to this centre. For further information call 02 9288 8700 between 9 am and 5 pm from Monday to Friday.

Private Transport
From the Hume Highway take the Berrima turn-off to the Old Hume Highway (approx. 130 km south of Sydney). Travel north approximately 4 km to the middle of the village. Argyle St runs parallel to the main street and the Centre is clearly visible from the village centre. Berrima is signposted from the surrounding towns of Mittagong, Bowral and Moss Vale. Street parking is available.

Bookings:
Visits must be booked. Bookings are between 6pm - 9pm Mon - Fri. Telephone (02) 4860 2555 for enquiries.
Visit times:
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 9.30am - 11:30am and 1pm - 3pm.
Mondays - coordinated children’s visits.
Conditions:
Visitors are only permitted to carry loose coins (up to $20) into the visit area for use in vending machines. No other items are permitted.
Legal Visits
Legal practitioners may visit seven days between 9:00am-3:00pm. Notification of intention to visit must be made by telephoning the Centre on (02) 4860 2555 twenty four hours before visiting.
Industries
Inmates are employed in screen printing, making commercial and Agencyal signage, banners and garment printing, general maintenance, cleaning, cooking and clerical work. A number of inmates are fully employed on community projects outside the Centre.
Berrima Correctional Centre Craft Shop, located in a building outside the Centre but on Agencyal property, is a retail outlet for inmates' hobby and craft items – check for opening times.
Education
Inmates are encouraged to participate in a range of courses which are subject to change.
